Sports Surfaces and Equipment Manager

Tara has worked as an agronomist and training specialist with the New Zealand Sports Turf Institute for over 19 years and is involved in the agronomy team management, consultancy, training programme development and management, and teaching in her current role as Sports Surfaces and Equipment Manager with NZSTI. Tara has also consulted and taught a wide range of clients both in New Zealand and throughout Southeast Asia.


Her specialities include – environmental science, botany, agrichemicals, and pest and disease management. Tara is also an accredited GEO certifier; and is one of New Zealand’s longest serving agrichemical safety trainers. She is also a registered Compliance Certifier for Worksafe NZ.


Tara’s previous role as Contract Manager for a parks management company has also given her valuable sports field project management skills and experience. She also has significant experience in training and specialist learning needs. In her professional career Tara has and continues to make a significant contribution to consultancy and training in the turf and horticulture industries.
