Matt Young is a Senior Consultant with TGMS Ltd and has over 20 years of experience in the industry having held a number of course management and supervisory positions at prestigious golf clubs in Europe and the UK. Matts education began at Reaseheath College studying an HND in Golf Course management before moving into greenkeeping and working at courses such as The Forest of Arden, The Belfry and Carden Park. An 8 year period manging a championship golf course in Austria also provided extensive experience of working in colder climates and encouraged Matt to return to education in 2011 and complete an MSc (on turfgrass pests and diseases) at Cranfield University’s Centre for Sports Surface Technology. Following graduation Matt joined TGMS as an Agronomic consultant and is involved in a broad range of projects specialising in the design and management of natural and artificial turf sports pitches. Clients range from community organisations to working with various governing bodies including The FA, Sport England, The RFU, Football Foundation, RFL and the ECB. Matt’s roles have also incorporated agronomic consultancy practice for golf course construction companies, golf courses and teaching organisations.
